Death Note

Just bought a new manga, written by Ohba Tsugumi and drawn by Takeshi Obata, called Death Note. You will know Takeshi Obata if you had read the fabulous Hikaru No Go, a manga about the game GO. This time, Takeshi Obata is back with a fresh look in his drawings. Death Note is about a story where a God of Death, Ryuk, accidentally drops the Death Note in the Realm of Earth. For your information, the Death Note has the ability to cause death simply by the act of writing a person's name in it.

It got picked by Light Yagami, the top college student in Japan. After reading the first few pages of the Death Note initially, Light dismissed the idea that it was true. However, he decided to give it a try one day. He was watching the news, which was broadcasting the event of a guy holding a group of kids hostage in a school. He wrote down the name of the guy and after 40 seconds, the guy died and the police was obviously bewildered. After that, Light believed that the Death Note was for real. He had an ambition: To become a saviour and use the Death Note to make the world into a place free of evil, by killing all the people who had committed a serious crime!

Ryuk paid Light a visit on the fifth day and introduced himself. He told Light that they were bounded by the Death Note and he had to stay by Light's side until the book was destroyed, somehow, or when Light died. All the interesting things started to happen after that. Apparently, not even the Gods of Death knew all the rules of the Death Note and use it effectively! So, Light began to experiment around with it. After all the outrageous killings. the FBI called on a super-intelligent kid code-named 'L' to track down and nab the culprit. Then begins the cat-and-mouse chase between Light and "L". Only one will survive in the end! A must watch for all fans of Takeshi Obata or detective stories! Some Rules of Death Note:

1. The human whose name is written in this book shall die
2. This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
3. If the cause of death is written within 40 secs of writing the person name, it will happen.
4. if the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of heart attack.
5. After writing the cause of deaths, details of the death should be written in the next 6 mins and 40 secs.
