Do We Really Mean Wat We Say?

I have been sending and receiving friendship SMSes for quite some time when one day, I unexpectantly thought to myself,"What is the purpose in all this?" In a world binded by dazzling forms of communications, I believe all of us had, in some point of our lives, received an SMS with lovey-dovey contents and found out, with a tinge of surprise and curiousity, that the message was apparently not sent by your close ones, but a friend/colleague/classmate. I start to wonder after that...Do we really mean what the message says? To me, if that was true, I would find myself busy with several "lovers" at the same time.(Not a bad idea at all though!) Frankly speaking, it does feel quite comforting and warm to receive these messages but I would find it much less meaningful than a personalized message where a friend drops a line to ask about how I am getting on in life.

I am not trying to discourage anyone from sending friendship SMSes but if you really care about that SPECIAL someone, dun just send him/her a forwarded message, ASK ABOUT THEIR LIFE! That is the true way to care about people. Personally, I made a sort of a promise to myself not to send those SMSes with lovey-dovey messages(unless I have a girlfriend that is, which I dun think I ever will have, hahaha...) but only send messages that at most represent friendship and concern to people around me. That way, I believe people will also tend to realise you are a sincere person. So, the next time before you press the SEND button, think twice about whether YOU really mean what you want to say in the message!
